Job Description
The Assistant Lecturer in Special Needs Education will be responsible for teaching, research, consultancy, and community service in the field of Special Needs Education. The position supports the university's mission of producing competent graduates through quality teaching, innovative research, and community engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, student supervision, scholarly publications, and other academic responsibilities in accordance with AMUCTA policies and national higher education standards.
Requirements
1. Holder of a Master's Degree in Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology with specialization in Special Needs Education, or related field from a recognized institution.
2. Holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Special Needs Education or a related education field with a GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5.0.
3. Demonstrated potential in teaching, research, publication, and public service.
4. Ability to use ICT in teaching, learning, and academic administration.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in Special Needs Education and related areas.
Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical sessions.
Conduct student assessment, examinations, and marking.
Supervise students' projects, research activities, and field practices.
Participate in curriculum development and review.
Conduct research and publish scholarly works in recognized outlets.
Provide academic guidance and counselling to students.
Participate in consultancy and community outreach activities.
Attend departmental, faculty, and institutional meetings.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or other authorized university authorities.
